State of the City – Mitriță Edition

While 18 Goals in 25 Matches in impressive, the most glaring opportunity is the 11 Yellow Card accumulation. These are accumulations most likely as an Attacking Midfielder, but it would be something for Dome and the Club’s help discipline him and reduce that tally.

(Alexander Ring, to note also accumulated 11 Yellow Cards in 34 Appearance for NYCFC in the 2018 Season)

Where does Mitriță fit?

With this acquisition, we gain a Forward, Attacking Midfielder and Winger at the same time. He may very well fit the role of a Centre Forward, with more possession time towards the left. He is a great Finisher, great dribbling ability, and is able to calmly bypass 3 – 4 defenders to accurately make it to the back of the net.

The good combination of Jonathan Lewis who often plays as a Right Winger, can help to create good set pieces. Ismael Tajouri Shradi also plays heavily as a Right Winger, but the last two games as a US International, Lewis was placed on the left and had back to back assists for USA.

The Starting Line Up – AIK

*While this is not something I would want to see in all games, as a Pre-Season game, this would be an interesting start for the Boys in Blue.

Sweat
– Barring from a few mistakes in the last Season, he has been consistent and tallied a few assists/goals for the Team.

Callens
– The Rock. Consistent and Disciplined. Very few yellow cards.

Chanot
– Personal favorite, he is a solid Captain for the Team and is interchangeable with Ring in terms of reliability. (Now that personal matters are resolved, we may have him longer and more focused on the game)

Tinnerholm – He comes out here to win, and is very expressive in games. Has tallied a few goals and assists for us, and is a solid play maker on Right-Back.

Ring – Best Midfielder in MLS, hands down. Supports on all sides and is not afraid to get his hands dirty.

Parks – Young guy as well as Sands, can get in some minutes and can hold the ball well.

Sands – Similar to Parks, he can do a lot and be aggressive at the same time.

Lewis – Fan favorite, he deserves some starting time after his debut for US (as well as grabbing two assists back-to-back)

Shradi – If he is as good of a form as he was last Season, he may be able to bring more creative plays.

Mitriță – I want to see if he can get any goals/how he gels with the team.
